Emily Riley

Digital Marketing Assistant

Whilst at university studying Business with Marketing, Emily realised that gaining work experience within marketing was more valuable to her growth and left university to complete a digital marketing apprenticeship within a market research agency. After gaining experience in house, Emily wanted to grow her knowledge and work closer with clients in an agency setting.

Emily joined Deliver in October 2022 and is responsible for all SEO activity and reporting, ensuring SEO and sales stats align with each business’s goals and potential. Emily also supports Jamie with new clients from an SEO and digital marketing aspect.

Outside of Work

“Most of my time is spent chasing a toddler around all day who learnt to run before walk and still hasn’t grasped the concept of walking. When I’m not playing mum, I love cooking and normally spend Sunday meal prepping in an attempt to be organised (which everyone in the office despises me for-Sorry!)”

Emily's Journey

Q: How did you get into the industry?
I originally went to university to study Business with Marketing after studying business at GCSE and A Level’s. At this point I wasn’t enjoying my degree and wanted to jumpstart into work, so I left my degree in 2nd year to do a digital marketing apprenticeship within market research.
Q: What does a normal day look like for you?
For me, it involves looking at a lot of data and stats for all our clients and making sure they are all moving in the right direction. Each client varies on what they need more support on but a typically day could include writing content, reviewing content, researching, and fixing any issues with each website.
Q: Common misconceptions about your job?
That my job is exactly like Emily in Paris, and I make things go viral with the snap of my fingers. I’m actually Emily in Birkenhead trying to keep up with algorithms.
Q: If you weren’t working in your current role, what job would you like to have if you could have any?
I always wanted to be cabin crew, purely for getting to travel all the time.
Q: What job did your younger self think you would have?
Younger me has wanted to be every single job possible from a chef to a teacher, dentist, interior designer, there wasn’t a job I didn’t want when I was younger.
Q: What do you do outside of work?
Most of my time is spent chasing a toddler around all day who learnt to run before walk and still hasn’t grasped the concept of walking. When I’m not playing mum, I love cooking and normally spend Sunday meal prepping in an attempt to be organised (which everyone in the office despises me for-Sorry!)
